(Kamiah)-- As Patches O’Houlihan once said, “If you’re going to become true dodge-ballers, then you’ve got to learn the five D’s of dodge-ball: dodge, duck, dip, dive and…dodge!” Everybody remembers dodge-ball from childhood; you know that game where you got picked last and eliminated first. Or maybe you hid behind all the big people until everyone else was out, and then you got pummeled by six balls at once. Well, now you can take your revenge. The Upriver Youth Leadership Council (UYLC) Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is thrilled to announce their 2nd Annual Upriver YAB Community Dodge-ball Tournament on Saturday, April 14th at 6 PM in the Kamiah Middle School Gym. Everyone is invited to attend and participate. Plan on dinner, there will be a Taco bar and concessions available.
Come enjoy the show as community teams with creative names such as “Andrew and the Ball Stars” come together to compete for local bragging rights and prizes, but that’s only half the fun, creative costumes are encouraged. As an added bonus, Kamiah Marshall’s Office and Lewis County Sheriff’s Office have teamed up and have issued a friendly grudge rematch challenge to the Kamiah Volunteer Fire Department to defend their side of the court, Dodge-ball style.
Registration forms can be picked up or dropped off at the UYLC office at 413 Main Street, Kamiah, the Kamiah Middle School Office, the Kamiah High School Office, the CV High School Office or emailed to Upriveractivities@gmail.com. Registrations are due by Wednesday, April 11th; payments may be made at the time of registration or the evening of event. Late registrations will be charged an additional
fee. Get your team together, come up with a super awesome name, figure out super cool costumes, and remember “if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”.
We are looking for donations for the Taco Bar. If you are able to help or for more information on the tournament contact Jasmine at 208-743-0392 or Upriveractivities@gmail.com.
